Skyvalley 0 – 2 Shiven Rovers A

The first team got back to winning ways at the weekend, with a good win in Skyvalley on Sunday. Shiven controlled the first half with Joe Hunt going closest from a Pierce McDonagh cross. After 5 minutes of the second half,  Joe Hunt was taken down in the box by the Skyvalley keeper who received his marching orders. Frankie Kilcommins dispatched the resultant penalty. Skyvalley were down to ten men for the remainder of the game, and the inevitable Shiven pressure resulted in Joe Hunt being involved again, this time setting up Padraig Keating for his first Shiven goal on the hour mark. A late period of Skyvalley pressure was ultimately thwarted by a fine save from Shane Delaney, keeping the Shiven clean sheet intact. It was a good performance from the team ahead of a 2 week break in fixtures, lifting themselves into 5th place in the League table.
