Sean Keating inspired Shiven to u18 win in a local derby against Moylough. Shiven came out on top in this vital premier league tie. Shiven started strongly and with 20 mins gone Carl Healy put Daragh Nolan through to take the lead. However, Moylough scored twice in quick succession to go 2-1 up shortly after. Despite this double whammy, on the stroke of half time Shiven equalised, following good work from Ciaran & Owen Browne. Shiven were awarded a free, and when Sean Keating’s shot rebounded of the keeper, Josh Lane was alert to score. Shiven were under severe pressure for most of the 2nd half, but with Jack Crehan in goal, and Ryan Mannion and Conor Mc Donald in defence in outstanding form, Moylough could not get the lead. However, with 5 mins to go, Moylough eventually made the breakthrough and went ahead. For Shiven, sub Micheal Bury & Diarmuid Butler were winning a lot of ball, & man of the match Adam Farrell was doing an excellent job of dictating play and Shiven forced 2 late corners from which Sean Keating scored both. A good win that keeps us in contention in the league.
