Shiven Rovers’ first team had a good 2 nil win away to current title holders Ballymoe in their first league game of the season. Despite having most possession it took an own goal from a Pierce McDonagh corner to put Shiven 1 up after 30 mins. Shiven continued to attack but needed a good save from Shane Delaney to keep ahead. With 20 mins left Joe Hunt sealed the win following a nice pass from Kevin Bannerton. They follow this with a tricky home tie against Moore United, a side who will again be challenging for honours in the league. This game is on Friday night, Sept 1st at 8:00 p.m.
